“Dia de las Frutas” Community Orchard Appreciation Event – October 30, 2019

ProduceGood’s annual appreciation event to thank all of our supporters, was a fruitful and fun celebration. Kait Cole, our Community Orchard Coordinator made the evening a great success. In addition to recognizing over 100 super volunteers, our partners (Misadventure , O’side Kitchen Collaborative, Bagby Beer, Lucky Bolt, Fish 101, GelatoLove, Chuao Chocolates, Lazy Acres, and Gelson’s Market provided delicious food and drinks for all! A big THANK YOU! To Aetna insurance for sponsoring the event!


“Doing Good Never Tasted So Good” – August 3, 2019

GelatoLove, a gelato venture that provides a healthier choice of high-quality Italian artisan gelato, made with only the best natural ingredients, and ProduceGood, a nonprofit that reduces waste and hunger by connecting surplus produce to food insecurity in San Diego County, partnered up to fight against food insecurity in San Diego by hosting “Doing Good Never Tasted So Good” on Saturday, August 3 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. A portion of all sales were donated to ProduceGood to support their efforts in of decreasing San Diego’s food insecurity and waste. Collaboration never tasted this sweet!


Deloitte “Impact Day 2019” – June 8, 2019

IMPACT Day is an opportunity for Deloitte people to put their passion, determination, and skills to use for the benefit of their communities—leaving behind their laptops, conferences calls, and emails to make a difference in the communities they serve. For the last 4 years, San Diego Deloitte employees have chosen to partner with ProduceGood to reduce hunger and waste. Last June, 100 Deloitte volunteers harvested over 15,000 pounds of grapefruit for San Diego Food Bank in one day! See at what corporate responsibility looks like!


2nd Annual GleanUp Day, Oceanside — May 11, 2019

ProduceGood partnered with City of Oceanside for a community-wide gleaning event. Residents were invited to glean their own citrus trees, or have ProduceGood harvest their orchards. All the bounty was brought to El Corazon Senior Center and distributed amongst local feeding agencies. Together we harvested over 8,000 pounds of nutritious produce, equaling 24,000 servings, and keeping 4 tons out of the landfill! See what community looks like!
