Come out with friends for a Quick Pick or join a larger group for a Big Pick to collect citrus or other fruit from local backyards and orchards donated by local residents and farmers. Through CropSwap, you can make a difference for the 1 in 4 San Diegans being served by our feeding partners. Volunteer time approx. 2.5 hours. Sign up here.
Join us to rescue mixed produce from local farmers and grocers. Look for La Jolla, Leucadia, and Hillcrest Farmers Market opportunities to collect excess from local farmers. Grocery Gleaning takes place at local grocery retail locations, where volunteers sort through what the store is unable to sell but is still perfectly good to eat. Volunteer time approx. 1 -2 hours, depending on program. Sign up here.
If you like to drive, consider volunteering for Market Share or CropSwap and then get trained as a driver. Pickups range from farm Bumper Crops, produce from Farmers Markets, grocers and harvests from orchards. Volunteer time approx. 1.5 hours. Sign up here.

It’s better together–volunteer for team building and corporate social responsibility!
ProduceGood’s First Pick program is an opportunity for companies and organizations to participate in a group gleaning event, demonstrating their commitment to their community while enjoying a team building initiative. It is a fun, fragrant way for volunteer groups to contribute to their company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, while reducing food waste and hunger in San Diego.

If you are a backyard grower, orchard owner, farmer, or grocer and have unsold or excess produce you would like to donate, ProduceGood can help. We can come to your place of residence or business to harvest, sort, and/or haul your excess to supply those in need.
The produce our growers donate is provided directly to our Produce Provision Network (PPN) of 80 feeding partners who serve food-insecure San Diegans.

ProduceGood has partnered with over 100 San Diego County organizations who provide healthy food at no cost to food-insecure individuals and families. ProduceGood’s Produce Provision Network (PPN) consists of dozens of feeding partners who provide recovered bounties to our food-insecure neighbors. We have opportunities for PPN partners to receive:
Occasional Receiver based on food capacity and availability (No Cost)
Monthly Bounty Partner with scheduled fruit drops (Monthly Service Fee)
Market Share Partner with the scheduled supply of mixed produce (Per Event Service Fee)
ProduceGood’s Crop Circle program partners with San Diego County cities through produce collection and food waste prevention outreach services. Collection services provide an outlet for City residents, farmers, and grocers so excess citrus, stone fruit, avocados and vegetables may be donated to local feeding organizations as close to the source of excess as possible.
Engaging with ProduceGood to add food recovery to municipal waste management activities like composting, digestion and industrial use delivers a holistic and equitable solution to reduce organic waste in landfills. ProduceGood food recovery activities support SB 1383 and AB 1826 requirements.
Check out our CropCircle Flyer for more information.
ProduceGood partners with grocers who want their excess edible produce to go to people instead of compost. Our grocery gleaning program accommodates your schedule, easing your staffs operations by having our volunteers sort through your excess, taking what is perfectly edible to one of our feeding partners nearby.
Our Grocery Gleaning program is a great way to address SB1383 edible food recovery goals while providing fresh, nutritious produce to your community.
